A few points about Walker’s Whining

The other day Scott Walker apparently wrote a letter or something to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He wanted to gripe about the coverage of the County Board's public hearing on Monday. Apparently the newspaper was not supposed to report on the official county event because (in Walker's view) the paper didn't give his pep rally with CRG enough attention last month.

In the statement Walker reportedly asked, "Why is it that a group that is organized to represent taxpayers is dismissed, but groups that advocate more government spending are praised by many in the media and in politics?"

I just have a small number of quick points to make about Walker's whining:

  1. Since Walker is so worried about fairness in the media, I can only assume that he sent a similar statement to talk radio stations asking them to give more time to the kinds of citizens and advocates that made up the vast majority at the hearing Monday night.
  2. Did Walker really complain about "groups that advocate more government spending" when every one of his own budgets have increased spending? Milwaukee County Government spending has increased IN WALKER's OWN PROPOSED BUDGETS 35% over his time as county executive.
  3. Sorry Scott but right wing taxpayers are not the only taxpayers in Milwaukee County. CRG certainly represents the right wing taxpayers, but they certainly don't represent all taxpayers. I would venture to say that there were a good number of taxpayers at the hearing representing themselves quite nicely.
  4. Exactly what is the problem with there being a strong union presence at this official hearing? They are Milwaukee County (taxpaying) citizens. The actions that the board takes will have a dramatic and direct impact on them and their families. Good grief, you are trying to either drastically cut their pay and/or send them to the unemployment line. Why wouldn't they advocate for their jobs and why is that a bad thing anyway?

Still using flawed accounting math to make a lame point that has been discredited numerous times? Every time you attempt this it is factually refuted.

Now come back and say its spam, this is your blog, you don't have to debate if you don't want to. While we know that your past performance of blocking posts will keep any true debate of your comments from happening.

Anonymous must have Cory confused with Aaron Rodriguez.

you just posted a comment didn't you? if you can't make your point in three days that is your problem. i don't have time to deal with your obsessions.

sorry howie, its not flawed accounting...walker proposes more spending with each of HIS budgets while at the same time attacking others for increased spending. its hypocrisy and its really very simple. but i don't expect a walker groupie to see it.

If you can “factually” “discredit” that $1,481,577,120 in spending is more than $1,100,274,125 then you are worse off than I thought.

go ahead and get the last word, i know you can't control yourself. And thanks again for helping drive up my site stats.

His proposal is the same as last year’s approved budget from the county board, like every other year. Where is this an increase from that?

Not sure who howie is? It is flawed accounting. Where have you used this same accounting method to show Doyle has raised his budget by over 43% in the same time walker has been in office?

If you were really worried about your site stats you wouldn't stop a debate of your flawed accounting every time you bring it up.

capper said...

No, the proposal is not anywhere near the same. Spending is a lot higher, as is the borrowing.

This budget is D.O.A., since it counts on revenue streams and savings that are impossible to meet.

If the Board passes it, it will implode before it even begins. That is irresponsible and utterly dishonest to say otherwise.

Capper as soon as you educate yourself on the numbers come back and play again.

Trust me, I've been poring over the numbers for weeks. One has to do that sort of thing in my position.

Anonymous insults without backing shows either lack of proof and/or fear.

Which is it? Do you just hate it when the truth makes Walker look as incompetent and as much as a liar as he really is.

No. You choose to do that, two completely different things.

Anonymous insults without backing shows either lack of proof and/or fear.

What insult? Your either or phrase further proofs your faulty logic approach to a conversation; there was no insult, there certainly is no fear or lack of proof…flawed accounting methods are easy to prove.

Which is it? Do you just hate it when the truth makes Walker look as incompetent and as much as a liar as he really is.

Your premise is wrong. You are espousing emotional babble without substance.

fyi capper, these appear to be just the same two guys that troll for walker and invent something to say no matter how absurd.

once again, $1,481,577,120 in spending is more than $1,100,274,125....this is walker's proposed spending in his current budget as compared to his proposed spending in his 2003 budget. his numbers, his budgets and his problem.

and this is the point where my time is much too valuable to waste helping the same people twist themselves into pretzels. over and over and over and over.

It's obvious that they are Walker backers. They deny reality, lie through their teeth and cannot argue rationally. Three key symptoms of Walkeritis.

sorry i almost forgot...since the same two walker supporters* keep visiting my site so often, i thought that I should give you a name. so from now you are both named "howie".

*at least it appears to be two people...i suppose it is possible that one person is using a company computer from the east coast while also using another computer from a specific wisconsin town.

Why is my name brought into this?

Btw Anon,

Your posts weren't the only ones blocked. Join the club.

It appears your investigative skills are on par with your accounting skills...both flawed.

Cory,

Why are you blaming Walker for something the County Board did? You know that Walker proposed a 0% tax freeze in his budgets, then vetoed the Board's effort to increase taxes. So why the deception?

whatever you say howie

yeah, your comments are really being "blocked" seeing that there are now 17 comments to this blog posting. look, if you walker groupies can't get things off your chest in three days after the original posting, that is your problem. if you say it before that deadline then it goes up right away. again, that is hardly "blocking" anything.

would you please actually look at walker's budgets rather than just reading his talking points? each walker budget proposes a higher tax levy and more spending than the one before it...those are his budgets, the county board didn't write them. no one made him propose those increases in spending and taxes. it is his document and he should own it.

Anonymous said...

In order for it to be an increase, in the budget, it would need to be higher than the last approved budget...that is how real accounting works.

Did you learn your accounting skills from the same people that count saved jobs for the president?

a. you are comparing walkers current proposed budget to the board's adopted budget last year.

b. i am comparing walkers current proposed budget to his proposed budget from last year.

c. you are comparing walker numbers to board numbers and i am comparing walker numbers to walker numbers.

Anonymous said...

Yes you are...

What accounting school teaches your method? What business or government recognizes your method?

Your sole reason for playing with numbers is that is all you got, besides posting a persons property deed.

If you have a problem with his budget bring it up. Flawed accounting shows your inability to discuss real issues.
